Local public communicators in Morocco form their own professional association
“Promoting public communication in Morocco”. This is the mission of the Moroccan Association for Public and Regional Communication (AMCP), which is in the process of being set up.
Cap’Com has been contributing to Moroccan discussions and initiatives on public communication for several years now. By taking part in conferences in Morocco and hosting Moroccan public communicators at various forums in France, links have been forged and the idea was hatched based on the experience of the French network.
The association is now headed by Dr Ouafae Bouchaf, a lecturer and researcher at the National Business and Management School (ENCG) in Dakhla, and has defined its mission as follows: to promote public and regional communications, organise events and professional demonstrations, and provide support and training.
“The idea (has been around for a long time) and is (still) gaining momentum, and now it’s coming to fruition in Morocco’s deep south with one of my former doctoral students,” says a delighted Vincent Meyer, a member of the Cap’Com Steering Committee and particularly active in supporting this project.
